Program Directors Needed

posted by:  DGK Pat Mayette

Brother Knights,

Many hands make the labor light. This is true for our council as well. As we are working back from last year's COVID restrictions, we need people to step up to help.

We have four primary programs: Faith, Family, Community, and Life. We need two brothers to step up as director for Family and Life. Additionally, WE need several brothers to step up to assist the directors of the four the programs. This way, the burden each brother will not be onerous.

These programs are the cornerstones of our council and each helps us to fulfill our core tenants of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity.

Please contact    if you willing to take on one of the director positions, or are willing to assist a director with a program.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply committing. I think you will find great joy in participating in this manner. We will have signup sheets at the meeting on Tuesday, 7:00PM Rosary, 7:30PM meeting start, in the Gym at SJA. We plan on tailgating after the meeting, to have some time to spend with each other in brotherhood. We will be grilling up the hamburgers, hot dogs and sausages not used today.

Vivat Jesus,
Bother Patrick

Financial Secretary's Report

posted by:  FS Rob Banasiewicz

With 2021 upon us, we are halfway through the Fraternal Year (and my three-year term as Financial Secretary!). The semiannual audit has been submitted to the Trustees and will be sent in to Supreme by the end of January. We still have over 90 Brothers inarrears for this year's dues and despite this and the loss of revenue from both the Strawberry Festival and the Parish Breakfast, we remain on firm financial standing and should have no issues weathering the rest of this Fraternal Year. This is mainly due to generous donations made via check or Square by Brothers of our Council.

The new year means I will be beginning work on the budget for the 2020-2021 Fraternal Year, and just like last year I am willing to work with any Brother that wants to get involved. I have serious worries about the Parish Breakfast returning not to mention the Strawberry Festival. In order to continue our many charitable donations, the Council will need to develop new fundraising streams, so we don't have to rely on cash donationsfrom Brothers of the Council. Please consider helping when the Council moves forward with these fundraising efforts.

As always, it is an honor to serve the Council as Financial Secretary and I am willing to work with any Brother in need or has the desireto learn and/or help in the financial planning for our future. Vivat Jesus!

Rob Banasiewicz

Opening Ode

(To the tune of "O Christmas Tree")
Sing ye his praises loud and long, And let the unenlightened know, In ev'ry echo of your song, The great deeds done, tho' long ago, By Columbus of the valiant soul, Who first old Neptune has controlled, Despite of envy, intrigue, gold, In the dim past of long ago.

With the vessels three o'er stormy sea, He thrilled the world of long ago, While wisdom linked with destiny, In justice scales its weight did throw, We are his heirs; we wear his name; We boast his deeds; we spread his fame; Our order is the shining flame, That lights the gloom of long ago.

Closing Ode

(To the tune of "My Country 'Tis of Thee")
Now our evening's work is done, Then let us ev'ry one, Join in a song. Long may our Order stand, Foremost in this free land, Ready with heart and hand To right each wrong.

We have a mission great, True to our Church and State, Onward we move. We dry the mourner's tear, The tired heart we cheer, Faith in our works appear, Upheld by Love.
